This morning I woke up to a new video notification on youtube. The title was
“Anthony Joshua – My loss from my side.”
I watched the video and it emcompases everything that’s made me an Anthony Joshua fan over the years.
Humility. Passion. Integrity.
With a pinch of cheeky charisma.
Though you can also see the pain.
To me, this video is what being a champion is about. Not blaming others, accepting your loss and looking to improve in the future.
I’m posting this here as a reminder to myself.
Failing is part of being human.
There’s another video on Youtube.
One from Arnold Schwarzenegger. Though it’s now been removed from YouTube, probably due to copyright claims.
In it he said:
Don’t be afraid of failing, because there is nothing wrong with failing. You have to fail to climb the ladder.”
“What’s not ok, is when you fail you stay down.Whoever stays down is a loser. Winners fail and get up, fail and get up, fail and get up.”
– Arnold Schwarzenegger
Anthony Joshua will rise again.
I look forward to watching his story.
Update 8 December 2019: Anthony Joshua and Ruiz fought again in “Clash On The Dunes” – Joshua won convincingly. He is the champion again.
